Puyalasa (Acute Dacryocystitis)
Note: By the above acute inflammatory features, it can be correlated to acute dacryocystitis.
According to modern
It is sannipataja vyadana sadya vyadhis, affected sandhi is kaneenika sandhi (inner canthus)
Clinical features:-
- A supportive cyst (pakwa shoha- sushrutha; vrana shopha- Vagabhata)
- The system discharges foul sticky and purulent secretion.
- Severe pricking pain, anger look, restlessness etc. are present
Note: By the above acute inflammatory features, it can be correlated to acute dacryocystitis.
Treatment:
- Shareera Shoshana
- It is vyadana sadya vyadhi (Raktamokshana)
- Upanaha sweda at lesion
- Vrana shopha Chikitsa
- Chakshushya lepas
- Anjana
- Kaseesa saindhava Lavana, Aardraka+honey
- Above drugs+fine powders of Loha bhasma and Tamra bhasma
According to modern
- Incision and Drainage of lacrimal abscess
- Excision of lacrimal sac (Dacryo cystectomy)
- Dacryo customer rhinostomy
